Media Roundtable Week in Review

We discuss the week's top news stories with our roundtable of local journalists: Larry Hannan, Florida Times-Union reporter; Claire Goforth, Folio Weekly editor; Fred Matthews, Examiner blogger; and Tim Gibbons, Jacksonville Business Journal editor.

Topics include the future of U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw's (R-Florida) seat in Congress, the interfaith group I.C.A.R.E. pressing Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry to address the city's homelessness issues, and more.

Cathedral Arts Project

The Jacksonville nonprofit Cathedral Arts Project was established in 1993 with the mission of providing access to arts education to Duval County children.

The organization is gearing up for its 12th annual "Spring for the Arts" fundraising event. Rev. Kimberly Hyatt, president and CEO, joins us with a preview.

One Tank Media

In our new spring series of segments, in partnership with the UNF student-run group One Tank Media, we're exploring interesting places to visit within 100 miles of Jacksonville.

This week we speak with writer Jamie Swann about the town of Bardin, FL, and the legend of the creature known as the 'Bardin Booger.' We also find out how the past is being kept alive in Micanopy, FL, with writer Ashton Elder.

'All the Way'

Players by the Sea debuts its production of "All The Way" this week. The stage show follows Lyndon B. Johnson's fight to pass the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Star Bill Ratliff, who plays Johnson, joins us with a preview.

Sean Birch joined the WJCT team in late 2011 and was with the company until 2016.
