Friday on First Coast Connect, our weekly Media Roundtable featured Dan Scanlan from The Florida Times-Union, Folio Weekly editor Claire Goforth, Jacksonville Business Journal editor Timothy Gibbons and WJCT contributor Charles Griggs (01:18).   

Reveal host and Jacksonville native Al Letson and Jacksonville Bar Association President Tad Delegal spoke about Al’s talk with the association regarding race relations and Letson’s appearance Saturday in the CoRK Arts District (33:30).

We heard a live in-studio performance by the Kristin Lee Duo (44:00).

Our panel discussed white supremacist Richard Spencer’s appearance at the University of Florida, the Jaguars apology to the city’s Veterans Affairs Division regarding the protest in London and Duval County Schools losing out on “Schools of Hope” funding.    

Al Letson and Tad Delegal

Nationally renowned playwright, poet, performer and national radio host Al Letson is one of Jacksonville’s leading talents and change agents.

He spoke Friday at a meeting of the Jacksonville Bar Association, leading a conversation about race in America.

Letson is introducing a new piece Saturday night in the CoRK Arts District.

The Kristen Lee Duo

Lee has performed around the world and recently moved to Jacksonville. She is currently  focusing on writing new material. The duo will be performing Nov. 10 at the Volstead in downtown Jacksonville.
