Our weekly Media Roundtable included Tessa Duval, reporter for the Florida Times-Union; Tim Gibbons, editor of the Jacksonville Business Journal; Claire Goforth, editor of Folio Weekly, and WJCT reporters Lindsey Kilbride and Ryan Benk. Host Melissa Ross also spoke with humor essayist Dave Barry about his latest book, “Best. State. Ever,” and singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter about her latest album and concert next week at the Florida Theatre.

Media Roundtable

Our panel discussed the final presidential debate, problems between members of the Duval County School Board and a controversial leaked audio tape regarding Florida’s Amendment 1 related to solar energy.

Dave Barry

He’s been writing about life in Florida for decades, often poking fun at strange happenings in the Sunshine State. Barry’s latest book, “Best. State. Ever,” defends Florida as a strange yet great place to live.

Mary Chapin Carpenter

Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Mary Chapin Carpenter is on the road this year, performing songs from her 14-album catalog and new songs from her latest CD, “The Things That We Are Made Of.” She spoke to Ross about her career and latest album.
