It’s official. Atlantic Coast Bank is now Ameris Bank.

Parent company Ameris Bancorp announced Tuesday it has finalized its acquisition of Atlantic Coast Financial Corporation.

"Acquiring Atlantic Coast Bank is a great opportunity for Ameris Bank to expand our Southeastern footprint and further build scale in the Northeast Florida market. We look forward to welcoming the outstanding group of Atlantic Coast Bank bankers into the Ameris Bank family, and we are excited for them to be a part of our team,” said Ameris Bank CEO Dennis Zember in an email to WJCT News.

The conversion of all things Atlantic Coast is expected to wrap up in June. Until the transition is complete, Atlantic Coast Bank will operate as a division of Ameris Bank.

Once the complete transition to Ameris Bank occurs, customers will have access to a branching network across four states as well as new resources and products

Ameris Bank, headquartered in Moultrie, Ga., has over $8 billion in assets.
