Community Health Provider Launches In Leon County

A new community-based Medicaid provider is coming to the Tallahassee area. Lighthouse Health Plan is starting up business in Leon County.

Called a Provider Sponsored Network, Lighthouse works with doctors and hospitals across the region to give Medicaid recipients local, low-cost care.

There are nearly 200 thousand Panhandle residents eligible for the low-income assistance; 70 percent are at-risk children.

Lighthouse serves counties across the North Florida area, and is run by doctors.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
