A new, conservative movement announced its nationwide tour in Jacksonville on Monday, and the group called Grassroots for Victory USA is returning to Jacksonville next weekend for the first stop of that tour.

Former First Coast Tea Party leader Billie Tucker founded the new group, which she says is aimed at educating Americans on traditional principles and values.

At the Jacksonville Landing today, conservative activist Becky Gerritson said the Grassroots for Victory tour will stop in at least 14 cities this fall.

“People are really excited. They’re hungry for truth,” she said. “We’re so divided. It’s time to rally the troops.”

The tour officially kicks off in Jacksonville on Sunday, August 8, at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront hotel.

Promotional materials promise appearances by former Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford and former Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll.

Titles of breakout sessions at the event include  “Holding Government Accountable” and “Standing up for Your Faith.”
