Council President Yarborough Discusses Proposed 2015 Budget

City of Jacksonville

The Jacksonville City Council will begin reviewing next year’s proposed city budget Tuesday night.

The proposal includes across the board cuts to public safety, along with sweeping cuts to city services in general that were recommended by the Council Finance Committee last week.

It does not include a majority of the new borrowing plans in the proposal originally sent to the City Council by Mayor Alvin Brown's office.

The full City Council will hear comments from the public beginning with Tuesday's meeting. They will vote on it at the end of September.

Jacksonville City Council President Clay Yarborough joined WJCT's Melissa Ross to discuss what is in the proposed budget and where it will go from here.
