Motorists planning to use the Mathews Bridge to get to Arlington this weekend should look for another path.
The Florida Department of Transportation announced Wednesday the eastbound lanes of the bridge will be closed from Friday at 6 p.m. to Sunday at 6 a.m.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured to the Hart Bridge. Message boards and police will help direct traffic through the detour.
The closure is part of a $494,885 project to rehabilitate portions of the bridge deck and is scheduled to be completed in less than two months, weather permitting.
