Saturday's weather was near perfect and threatened showers held off on Sunday, so Festival fans packed the downtown's Chain of Parks both days. Many of the locals hosted out of town visitors, such as Bill Oliver whose construction firm, Oliver Sperry Associates, is among the event's many sponsors.

"My brother's in town and he's fixing to walk up and spread the word, so hopefully it keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger," Oliver remarked.

The event is also a hit among the participating artists. Like Gainesville linoleum printer Leslie Peebles for whom this was her 8th Festival appearance.

"This was one of the first shows that I did that I really fell in love with and I've been back every year since," she said.

Peebles was among 170 artists taking part in this year's Chain of Parks Festival.
