ANASTASIA ISLAND — Residents in recovery mode after Hurricane Matthew are coming together to help each other.

One organization, called Mormon Helping Hands, is going door-to-door helping out anyone in need.

On Anastasia Island, a team of 20 people cleared a man's home for free. They did in six hours what it would have taken him days to do.

Many people who cannot afford to recover on their own or may not have insurance will need similar help, and the group wants to get the word out that its services are available for free.

All you have to do is call 1-800-451-1954 to schedule an appointment.

"People can call in work orders that they need, and we coordinate a large network all over Florida of volunteers that will come in over the next few weekends and create work orders that we are acting on today," said Bishop Brian Jiles with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Members of the group will come to your home and help with tree removal, mucking, flood cleanup and debris cleanup for free.

For more information on the group, see its Facebook page.
