Faith Matters: Religion And Politics

Does the separation of church and state mean that religion has no place in our political beliefs and actions?

On this edition of Faith Matters, hosts Nancy Broner and Kyle Reese explore the role of faith in the political process with local and national religious and political leaders.

Mike McCurry, Distinguished Professor of Public Theology at Wesley Theological Seminary and veteran political strategist who served as press secretary to President Bill Clinton, joins the show to discuss his experiences in the worlds of both politics and religion.

We then further examine the intersection of faith and politics with a roundtable of local religious and community leaders: Earl Coggins, president and founder of the First Coast Freethought Society; Nyah Vanterpool, leader of the OneVoice young professionals program; and Pastor Torin Dailey of the First Baptist Church of Oakland.
