Four months and nearly $4.5 million later, the Florida Department of Transportation has announced  construction crews working on the Hart Bridge have packed up and gone home.

The project included replacing wire rope, putting a protective coating on exposed steel and fixing the drain, among other things.

The Hart Bridge opened in 1967; the FDOT estimates more than 51-thousand vehicles use it every day.
