In Jacksonville there is a 100 percent chance of rain, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. The high temperature will be near 71 degrees. Tonight, expect shows and thunderstorms, and a low temperature around 63 degrees.

At the Beaches expect showers, with thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m., and a high near 70 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Tonight, there will be showers and possible thunderstorms throughout the night. The low temperature will be around 63 degrees. (National Weather Service)

Judge James Daniel agrees that Jaguars owner Shad Khan owns the majority stake in Edgewood Bakery. Daniel issued his opinion in the preliminary hearing saying that it was clear to him that Khan's investment company Stache Investments owned at least 51 percent of the bakery. Jack Webb, attorney for the defendants Tom and Carol Rykalsky and their business partner Mike Zimmerman, says that he intends to take the trial to a jury. Road improvement project is creating problems for a local car dealership. The Florida Department of Transportation resurfacing project on Beach Blvd is kicking up dirt and debris onto the dealership's cars costing the company money to have the cars professionally cleaned. (News4Jax)

Duval County School Board decides to close Scholar Preparatory Academy. Today is expected to be the last day  of class for the charter school. The school board voted 5-0 to shut the Scholar Preparatory Academy down due to the school not having general liability insurance, a requirement in the charter. ScholarPreparatory Academy has been under consideration to be closed by the school board for failing to meet other charter requirements. (The Florida Times-Union)

Death penalty appeal rejected for Jacksonville Craigslist killer. David Sparre, the Jacksonville man that killed Tiara Pool after luring her via Craigslist, argued during his original trial that he should have been convicted of second degree murder, but presented no evidence to support that defense. In Sparre's appeal, he claimed that the Court should have forced him to present evidence. The Florida Supreme Court affirmed the first-degree murder charge and the death sentence, with only one justice partially dissenting. (WOKV)

Governor Rick Scott announces proposal for tax free text books. At a visit to the University of North Florida book store, Gov. Scott discussed his proposal to not collect sales tax on college text books. If enacted, the proposal would save college students and parents an average of $60 per year. (First Coast News)
