Baptist Health first in the world to adopt fluid resistant uniforms: As part of efforts to reduce hospital-acquired infections, Baptist Health is about to become the first health system in the world to adopt specialized fluid repellent garments for both staff and patients. (WJCT)

Two Northside shootings may be related: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating whether two separate shootings on the Northside Wednesday night, one of which was fatal, are related. (News4Jax)

City lawmakers open more summer camp spots: Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown signed legislation adding 460 new spots for kids to attend summer camp this year. (WJCT)

Five Points plan would re-do famed intersection: A plan to renovate transportation infrastructure in Jacksonville's Five Points neighborhood would leave one street at the neighborhood's namesake intersection a one-way and add public plazas and sidewalk cafes. (Florida Times-Union)

Bondi to defend gay marriage ban in court cases: Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi's office announced Tuesday that it will defend the state's gay marriage ban in separate lawsuits filed in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. (Tampa Bay Times)

Car seats now mandated through age six: Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed a law this week requiring car seats for children ages three to six. (Orlando Sentinel)

Residents want final say in gambling expansion: A new survey shows Florida residents want to vote on whether gambling should be expanded in the state to include resort casinos. (Orlando Business Journal)
