Last Friday morning, a local couple went downtown to Jacksonville’s Clerk of Courts office with a request they say they’d been waiting years to make — a marriage license.
Their move came after a Monroe County judge ruled the state’s ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional.
Yesterday, there were new developments in Florida’s fight over same-sex marriage. As of this morning, the state’s same-sex marriage ban remains in effect while it is appealed, perhaps all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
