A public forum for Jacksonville City Council at-large candidates is scheduled for Monday, February 11, at the San Marco Southside Baptist Church.
Hosted by the San Marco Preservation Society, 12 candidates are expected to attend according to spokeswoman Erin Weinberg.

The forum will be moderated by District 5 City Councilwoman Lori Boyer, who will be retiring from City Council at the end of her current term.

San Marco Preservation Society President Bryan Mickler said the forum will start off with a short statement from each candidate.

“And then we have provided them with questions that we’d love some answers to and they involve generally their thoughts about drainage and San Marco issues — those are citywide issues also, but ones that touch our heart,” said Mickler.

Mickler said members of the audience will also have the opportunity ask questions.

The following candidates are running for at-large seats on the Jacksonville City Council:

At Large Group 1

At Large Group 2

At Large Group 3

At Large Group 4

At Large Group 5

The event starts at 6 p.m. at the church which is located at 1435 Atlantic Blvd. in District 5.

District 5’s Councilwoman Boyer is term-limited from seeking reelection. Republican LeAnna Cumber is running unopposed for that seat.

Jacksonville’s election is March 19. Each candidate needs to get 50 percent of the vote, plus one, to win outright. Otherwise, the top two vote getters in each race will square off in a May 14 runoff.
