The body of a Clay County deputy who was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday morning is being transferred to a funeral home in Green Cove Springs.
The procession for 40-year-old Ben Zirbel is traveling at noon Friday from the medical examiner’s office in downtown Jacksonville to Russell Haven of Rest on Sandridge Road.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is inviting people to honor Zirbel by standing along the procession route.
The public is also invited to attend his funeral, which is set for Saturday afternoon at 1 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Middleburg.
