Generation W Profiles: Pam Paul

Pam Paul

Generation W Profiles is a series highlighting influential women.

Pam Paul is co-chair of the New Town Success Zone. Paul also wants to get more women elected to Jacksonville City Council.

Paul moved to Jacksonville in 1959 and  almost immediately got involved in volunteer activities. She says she went on a tour of Northwest Jacksonville, and it resonated with her that maybe someday she could get involved with helping rehabilitate neighborhoods, and in particularly help children.

Paul says, "I hope that it sets an example that anybody can do this, you just have to have passion." She says tenacity is another secret ingredient, because none of it happens overnight.

"I just hope that I can encourage that spark, whatever the spark is, in others because that would be the best thing I could ever do, is just give people the sense that you have to weigh in and get involved, because otherwise standing on the sidelines doesn’t work very well," she says. "It is pretty easy once you jump, you just take a flying leap and there you are, and you’re very welcomed."

Generation W Profiles are a collaboration between WJCT and the Generation W women’s leadership conference.
