Jacksonville's Navy bases are inviting any military member transitioning out of service, their family members and all veterans to a job fair Wednesday, featuring more than 100 companies.

Participating businesses range from Whataburger, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Johnson & Johnson and Deutsche Bank. The fair is at the  Morocco Shrine Center on St. Johns Bluff Road from 9 a.m. to  2 p.m. Wednesday.

The Tri-base event is being put on by the Fleet and Family Support Center, which is partnering with Naval Station Mayport, Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

FFSC Director Amie McKague said attendees should dress for potential job interviews.

“We’re hoping there’s folks that walk out with a job offer,” she said.

The job fair can also link people with job training and school. Jacksonville University and Florida State College at Jacksonville representatives will be there, as well as representatives  from transition programs like Troops to Firefighters.

McKague said the event isn’t affiliated with any branch, and anyone who has served and their family members are welcome.
