Tuesday’s heat is one for the record books.
National Weather Service meteorologist Matt Zibura said two new Jacksonville records have been set.
“The old record was 86. We went to 87. And it’s also the latest in the season for a temperature up to 87 degrees,” said Zibura.
Zibura said a slow-moving cold front is pushing its way east and will bring clouds and a good chance of rain Wednesday.
After that we’ll see more seasonal temperatures.
“The next several days it looks like a cool-down. Then clearing out for the weekend. Highs in the 60s and 70s. And lows will be dropping into the 40s and 50s, so much cooler,” said Zibura.
Although, Zibura said, we could still see temperatures climb back up into the 80s in December.
