No one has been arrested yet in a triple shooting after St. Petersburg's Martin Luther King Day parade Monday night. Police Chief Anthony Holloway said Tuesday that tips are coming in.
"I can tell you that we've had a lot of great leads," he said. "We've had citizens call in, we've had some religious leaders here. First thing this morning, last night, they called in and they asked, what can we do. So we've got some good leads."
But he stressed that the crowd gathered at a parade after-party wasn't targeted.
"This car that the victims were in left the Shell gas station, and as it was driving northbound on 34th Street, another car pulled up next to it and shot into the car," Holloway said. "It wasn't shooting into the crowd, it was someone shooting into that car."
Roger Lee Ford Jr., 42; Tywan Jeremiah Armstrong, 39; were killed. Carlos Demetrius Young, 44 is expected to survive.
St. Petersburg Police ramped down their presence at this year's parade after complaints rolled in last year about their tactics. But Holloway said they wouldn't do anything different, and noted the shooting took place far off the parade route.
