A Leon County Circuit Judge will hear arguments Wednesday in a lawsuit attempting to remove six constitutional amendments from the ballot in November.

The lawsuit challenges six constitutional amendments passed by the Constitution Revision Commission.

Plaintiffs, including former Florida Supreme Court Justice Harry Lee Anstead, argue the CRC tied together unrelated amendments into single ballot proposals.

The suit was sent the Leon County circuit by the Florida Supreme Court, which did not want to immediately take up the dispute.

Attorney General Pam Bondi wanted the court to reject the case, arguing the lawsuit lacked a “compelling reason” not to be heard in a circuit court.

This is just one of a number of legal challenges to constitutional amendments currently underway.
