Florida Democratic Candidate for Govenor Philip Levine made a whirlwind swing through the state on Saturday, July 14. That included a quick visit to the Capital City.
Levine Campaign organizers at the Tallahassee phone bank on North Monroe Street admitted they were essentially in enemy territory.
"(We're in) Gwen Graham's and Andrew Gillum's backyard, but we want to show we're right here because every part of Florida matters, which is why this campaign has such a presence in North Florida," announced one of the organizers in advance of the visit.
Moments later, Levine himself with family in tow bustled into the headquarters. Unlike recent Republican governors and even his Democratic opponents, he said he'd move much faster to address issues like high speed rail, toxic algae in Lake Okeechobee or bringing film and TV productions back to Florida.
"If you're not impatient, you can't be in my administration, because things are happening way too slow," he insisted.
And with that, Levine dashed off in the direction of Jacksonville. Besides the aforementioned Gwen Graham and Andrew Gillum, Levine faces Chris King and Jeff Greene in the August 28th primary
