Budding entrepreneurs in Jacksonville were able share ideas or possibly find investors Thursday, known to some as International Collaboration Day.  CoWork Jax joined the event with participants from around the world.

Coworking brings individuals who might otherwise work out of their own home together to brainstorm and share resources and office and meeting space. CoWork Jax is one of many similar community collaboration efforts around the world.

CoWork Jax Community Curator Paige Calvert said the collaboration day is a way for a creator to get their ideas spread to a wide audience.

"I like to say that we're bringing in just people with ideas, with money, with advice, with the ability to mentor," she said.

"Bringing them all together in one spot so really cool things happen and are coming out of here everyday."

CoWork Jax began about two years ago in the Purdue Building in downtown Jacksonville.

It now has more than 100 members including artists, draft and internet designers, accountants, and non-profit foundations.

Since opening CoWork Jax, members have had their work featured by a number of media sites, including Forbes, TMZ and TechCrunch.
