Maxwell House Gets The 'Banksy' Treatment In Street Art Series

Dorota Pankowska

It's public art that might be described as "good to the last tag."

Canadian visual artist Dorota Pankowska included a familiar image in her latest series of guerilla street art, the logo of Maxwell House Coffee, which has operated a manufacturing plant on Jacksonville's East Bay Street for over 100 years.

The work is part of the 23-year-old Pankowska's "Pro Bono Promo" series, in which she tagged public spaces around Brampton, Ontario, with logos using the products they advertise as mediums.

The series is reminiscent of famed anonymous street artist Banksy, who has been causing trouble with installations in New York City this month.

Her Maxwell House logo, set against a white brick wall, was made by dry rubbing the grounds onto the wall using a stencil.
