Motorists Face Major I-95 Southbound Traffic Shift On Fuller Warren Bridge

FDOT
This map shows the new traffic pattern on I-95 southbound coming off of the Fuller Warren Bridge.

Drivers on Interstate-95 southbound who are used to getting in the left lane on the Fuller Warren Bridge to exit onto Atlantic Boulevard will need to break that habit in a hurry this weekend.

That’s because, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday night, the left lane will just keep going straight down I-95.

Florida Transportation Department spokeswoman Odette Struys said the change constitutes a major traffic shift.

“Motorists are going to have to make a decision on the Fuller Warren Bridge. Immediately after the San Marco Boulevard exit ramp, they’re going to have to decide whether they’re going to take the Atlantic Boulevard or US-1 exit or whether they’re just going to drive straight through on I-95 southbound.

Struys said  those continuing on I-95 need to stay in the 3-left lanes.  Motorists who want to get off at Atlantic Boulevard or Philips Highway will need to be in the right lane.

The best way to avoid confusion, Struys said, will be to follow the signs.
