Andrew Jackson High Students started the new year with a remodeled cafeteria.

Northeast Florida families recovering from Hurricane Irma now have one fewer concern — what to pack kids for lunch.

Public schools will be offering free breakfast and lunch to all students Monday Sept. 18 through Friday, Oct. 20, in response to the storm.

Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns Counties are among 48 in Florida included in FEMA’s Major Disaster Declaration.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture approved the state Department of Agriculture's request to provide the free lunches for students in the affected counties.
