Riverside Arts Market Calls for Local Authors to Participate in Expo

Farryn James

Jacksonville’s Riverside Arts Market is looking for writers to participate in this month’s Local Authors Expo.

RAM features writers from Northeast Florida in its fourth annual expo.

RAM spokeswoman Kirsten Wright said visitors will be able to purchase books directly from authors, who are available for signings.

Wright said this event is different because it’s not focused on paintings, crafts and jewelry but solely the authors.

"But what it really is: just a sort of day to really celebrate words and writings."

"We have spoken word performers. Some of the authors will be reading excerpts from their book," she said. "They will each have a booth where they can come and talk about their book.

With 30 positions available, authors are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible for the expo from  10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 16. For more information, email: programs@riversideartsmarket.com for participation details.

The arts market is a weekly event featuring local artists, food vendors and fresh produce. It’s under the Fuller Warren Bridge on Riverside Avenue.
