Chamblin's Uptown in downtown Jacksonville will be among the businesses taking part in this year's Shop Small Saturday.

Small Business Saturday is gaining a lot of momentum here on the First Coast.

In Clay County nearly 100 small businesses are participating in Shop Small Saturday in some form or fashion, said Annie Grogan with the Small Business Development Center.

“Small businesses drive our local economy and provide the most opportunity for job growth,” according to Tresa Calfee, Interim President of Clay Chamber.

Businesses from Fleming Island, Green Cove Springs, Keystone Heights, Oakleaf, Orange Park and Middleburg have all signed up to take part.

You can find the full list of businesses working with Clay County on the county’s Shop Small Saturday webpage.

Downtown Jacksonville merchants are also joining together on November 25 to support the Shop Small movement, with Downtown Vision providing the following list of participating merchants:

American Express claims credit for starting the Shop Small movement in 2010.

You can use find additional merchants throughout the First Coast and the country that have signed up to take part via a zip-code based searchable map that American Express has put together here.
