The free Nights of Lights park and ride shuttle in St. Augustine has seen a 50 percent ridership increase as compared to last year’s inaugural shuttle.

10,645 total passengers have taken the shuttle so far this year, according a count released Tuesday by the City of St. Augustine.

The city estimates the shuttle has reduced downtown vehicle traffic by more than 3,500 vehicles on the Nights of Lights busiest nights.

The shuttle runs Saturdays  in December from 1:00pm-11:00pm. Parking locations are at the St. Johns County Health Department, 200 San Sebastian View, and the San Marco Lot, 301 San Marco Ave. From both locations passengers are dropped at the Visitor Information Center, 10 S. Castillo Dr.

It’s supported by the City of St. Augustine with funding shared by the city and the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.
