St. Johns County Gets Additional FEMA Funding For Hurricane Matthew Recovery

Apr 13, 2018

St. Johns County coffers will get a much-needed $10 million boost from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The money from FEMA’s Public Assistance Grant Program will reimburse St. Johns for its cleanup and recovery efforts following Hurricane Matthew.

The storm, with its 100-mile-an-hour winds, raked the First Coast nearly two years ago, causing serious flooding and beach erosion.

FEMA has earmarked more than $244 million in compensation for the 18 Florida counties hardest hit by Matthew.
