St. Johns County Gets Ready For Fourth of July Beach Crowds

St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitor and Convention Bureau

St. Johns County expects a record number of beach goers this Fourth of July.

To help ease the crush of vehicles and the frustration of finding parking, the county is offering a free “Reach the Beach” shuttle service to two prime beach front locations in the county.

  • The Mickler’s Beachfront Park shuttle will transport beach visitors between Cornerstone Park, 1046 A1A North, and Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park on the southern end of Ponte Vedra Beach.
  • The Pier shuttle will transport beach visitors between St. Augustine Beach City Hall, 2200 A1A South, and the St. Augustine Beach Pier parking lot.

The shuttles will run every 20 minutes with final shuttles departing at 4 p.m.
Porpoise Point will also be open to four wheel drive vehicles for people to enjoy the St. Augustine Fourth of July fireworks show.

Access ramps at Vilano Beach, Crescent Beach Park and Fort Matanzas will be closed to vehicles through the Independence Day holiday.
