TE Marcedes Lewis Says 'Embrace The Moment' Of Jaguars' Playoff Berth

News4Jax

For the first time in a decade, the Jacksonville Jaguars are playoff-bound after beating the Texans 47-to-7 Sunday at EverBank Field.

The win locked-up Jacksonville’s first post-season berth since 2007.

Tight-end Marcedes Lewis is the only Jags player who was with the team back then.  He says he tries to remind his teammates of how special it is to be playing at this level.

“Part of me being a leader in here is just always providing perspective, right? You know, and not necessarily beat it into their heads but at the same time always being that voice to let them know, you know, this stuff just doesn’t happen so take advantage of it, don’t look too far ahead and embrace the moment.”

Sunday’s win gives Jacksonville the lead in the AFC South.

The Jags have just 2-games left in the regular season, both of them away.

They play the 49ers at San Francisco this Sunday and face the Titans in Nashville next Sunday, December 31st.
