Thousands In Jacksonville Experience Brief Power Outages As Heavy Rain Hits

JEA reported Thursday morning that 2,983 customers lost power on Jacksonville's Southside.

The power outage hit as the First Coast endures heavy rain. As crews worked to get power restored from that outage, others popped up around town.

Flooding, high winds, and tornadoes are possible in Florida Thursday as yet another strong storm system sweeps across the state. This is the fourth front in as many weeks, and it could be the strongest, according to FloridaStorms.org.

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, four tornado warnings had already been issued by the National Weather Service across portions of Central Florida with the first complex of storms.
