Motorists traveling east and west on Atlantic Boulevard between Southside Boulevard and Arlington Expressway will see double lane closures Friday, September 29 from 7 p.m. through Monday, October 2 at 5 a.m. to complete drainage and roadway improvements.
There will be one lane open in each direction in and around Regency Square Mall in the area, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
Law enforcement will be present during all hours for traffic control while the work is being done and traffic is detoured.
As an alternative, an optional detour will also be in place for motorists.
Motorists that want to avoid the construction area can take the following detour:
Drivers traveling through the Southside and Atlantic Boulevard intersection wanting to head eastbound on Atlantic Boulevard may continue north on Southside Boulevard and exit east on Arlington Expressway to travel eastbound Atlantic Boulevard.
Hubbard Construction Company began the $7 million improvement project in January 2016. The project is expected to be completed later this fall, weather permitting.
