The City of Tallahassee, in conjunction with the Homeless/At-Risk Veterans Stand Down event, is offering free rides to veterans this Friday and Saturday.

“We want to get as many folks that need help the opportunity to get there to do that," says Tallahassee City Commissioner Gil Ziffer. "Because when you have 100 social services organizations there to provide that help, we want to connect people. So ride the bus, ride it for free, get a hot meal, get a hot shower, go to the Fair Grounds for the Stand Down this weekend Friday and Saturday.”

As part of the Stand Down event, the North Florida Fairgrounds will have cots for homeless veterans, and will provide food, showers and health screenings.
