Tuesday, Feb. 19, is the deadline to register to vote in Jacksonville’s March 19 election.

People can register in person at the downtown Supervisor of Elections office at 105 E. Monroe St, or at other locations including public libraries, the tax collector's office and branch locations, and state agencies providing public assistance.

More information – and a complete list of addresses – is available from the Supervisor of Elections. People with questions about registering can also call 904-630-1414 or  email Supervisor Mike Hogan.

As of 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 247,343 Democrats and 220,550 Republicans had registered to vote in Duval County. An additional 131,595 voters are registered with no party affiliation, with another 5,950 listed as “other.”

Candidates need 50 percent of the vote, plus one, to win outright in the March 19 election. Otherwise, the top two vote getters in each race will square off in a May 14 runoff.

For more information about the elections, including a list of all candidates, see the WJCT Voters’ Guide.
