As the work week comes to an end, let WJCT's interns Kayla Davis, Blake Allen and Andre Roman be your guides for art, culture and fun on the First Coast.

Pokémon Go Tournament at Jacksonville Beach

Still haven’t caught them all? Head to Jacksonville Beach this Saturday at 2 p.m. for a Pokemon Go tournament. Teams of at least three to 10 are invited to Lemon Bar, The Ritz, and Brix Taphouse to catch a required amount of Pokemon at each stop. The registration fee is $25 and teams have until Saturday register. The winning team will receive a $500 gift card and $500 cash, and the first 1,000 people to register will receive a limited edition Pokemon hat and souvenir cup. Participants may register at any of the locations from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to the tournament, there will be a costume contest with the prize of a $100 gift card. An award ceremony will be held at the Brix Taphouse after the event at 8 p.m. All participants must be ages 21 and older with a valid ID.

The Jacksonville Suns vs. the Mobile BayBears

The Jacksonville Suns will close out the regular season with fan appreciation day on Labor Day Weekend at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. All-you-can-eat picnic and ticket packages are available for the season’s final two fireworks shows, weather permitting. Fans are encouraged to visit the Suns’ website to find out the status of each contest. Meanwhile, enter special passwords to purchase limited seats for the final two fireworks shows. A doubleheader is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, beginning at 5:05 p.m.

Comedian Carlos Mencia will be performing stand up acts at the Comedy Zone through Sunday. The outspoken comedy is scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday. He will also perform 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25. VIP Packages are available for $47, which include a ticket, meet and greet, a digital picture and signed merchandise. For couples, there is an overnight escape package for $112.50 per person, which includes dinner at GiGi’s, tickets to the show and a stay at Ramada Mandarin. Tickets must be purchased in pairs.

The legendary hits of Mike Stoller and Jerry Leiber are paired with good food at Alhambra Theatre and Dining. Guests can expect to hear memorable tunes such as “Hound Dog," “Love Potion #9," “On Broadway” and “Stand By Me,” while enjoying a variety of different  three course meal options. This event takes place at 6 p.m. Friday. Tickets begin at $35.

Singing Contest for The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Looks like Christmas is coming early this year — well, at least the singing contest to perform at the Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 25. The contest takes place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m Saturday and is open to ages 16 and older. Each singer will perform two Christmas songs; judges will pick six finalists. Once each finalist has been selected, a video will be submitted to The Jacksonville Landing’s marketing department, where the final decision will be made. Email frito1895@aol.com to register. The contest is free of cost.
