WJCT Is Hiring! Producer/Director Position

Sherry Spearman

Creatives: This is a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to tell the stories of a burgeoning city.

WJCT is hiring a Producer/Director with a focus on television and digital projects and some crossover with our radio team.

It is WJCT's mission to create content that  brings citizens together to celebrate human diversity, experience lifelong learning and actively engage in matters of civic importance. These aren’t just words. We really want our programs to improve the quality of life for people in our community. You’ll love working here, but when you’re not working…

Jacksonville is one of Florida’s best kept secrets. It’s a growing city located on the St. Johns River with beautiful beaches and one of the largest urban park systems in the nation. It’s home to the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and The PLAYERS Championship as well as minor league soccer, baseball, arena football and basketball teams. There is a strong arts and culture scene and, according to Forbes, Jacksonville is a “surprising foodie city.” (It’s not a surprise to those of us who live here).

This job might be for you if:

  • You have the instincts to recognize a great story and can generate amazing ideas.
  • You enjoy (and are skilled at) every part of the production process—from visioning and setting up interviews, to shooting, lighting, writing, editing and directing.
  • You are organized, work quickly and always meet deadlines.

Click HERE to apply. And check below to see what type of pieces you'd be producing. We look forward to hearing from you!
