Thursday on First Coast Connect with guest host Jessica Palombo we talked about the shooting of three transgender woman in Jacksonville and problems with police misgendering the victims with Jacksonville Coalition for Equality Dan Merkan, WJCT reporter Lindsey Kilbride and transgender activist Savannah Bowens (01:00). 

Friday on First Coast Connect it was our weekly Media Roundtable with Florida Times-Union Reporter Andrew Pantazi, Folio Weekly Editor Claire Goforth and A.G. Gancarski from Florida Politics (01:13).

Apex Theatre Managing Director Ian Mairs joined the show to tell us about the performing company’s upcoming slate of holiday shows (39:12).  

Local musician Madison Carr told us about a concert this weekend at Unity Plaza to benefit the charity Bright Holidays and performed live in-studio (46:00).  

  Today on “First Coast Connect,” our weekly Media Roundtable included Tessa Duval, reporter for the Florida Times-Union; blogger Fred Matthews, WJCT reporter Ryan Benk and Lynn Jones of the Jacksonville Free Press (01:12). We heard about the upcoming comedy event “Solid Laugh Advice” to benefit Stronger Than Stigma with organizer Nick Davis and Stronger Than Stigma Executive Director Gabrielle Magid (39:42), and we heard about this weekend’s Apex Theatre Studio production of “Godspell” with director Ian Mairs including a live, in-studio performance by Joshua K.A. Johnson (44:46), who plays the role of Jesus.   

  Today on “First Coast Connect,” our weekly Media Roundtable (01:16) included Florida Times-Union reporter Ben Conarck, Tim Gibbons of the Jacksonville Business Journal, Charles Griggs with the Jacksonville Free Press and WJCT reporter/producer Lindsey Kilbride. Apex Theatre Studio Director Ian Mairs and cast member Robert Reid (37:16) joined the show to talk about the  production of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged,” and band Crystal Garden featuring Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley (44:16) performed live in studio.
