Dreamette replaced the former Bold Bean Coffee Roasters in San Marco.

With temperatures rising in Jacksonville, ice cream and dessert shops are popping up to keep Jax supplied with cool treats. Here are a few of the brand spanking new options:

  • After 74 years as a Murray Hill fave, Dreamette has expanded to San Marco on Hendricks Avenue. Other Dreamette locations are expected to open soon in Springfield and St. Johns County.

  • Just a couple minutes’ drive down Hendricks, a Milkster Nitrogen Creamery is about to open in the former location of Foliahōm plant store (which has moved next to Dreamette).

  • The Yard Milkshake Bar, a franchise that appeared on “Shark Tank,” opens its Jacksonville franchise this Friday at Town Center with a special Jacksonville menu. (See the full story at the Jacksonville Daily Record.)

  • Parlor Doughnuts, an Indiana-based craft doughnut and coffee stop, comes to Jacksonville this week in the former Twisted Compass Brewing Co. location in Fruit Cove. Tomorrow’s the soft opening

  • The Aloha Waffle Bar serves ice cream-filled bubble waffles, a popular Hawaiian treat, along with Kona coffee, specialty teas and more. It opened recently on Jacksonville's Northside.
