JU Charter Day of Service

Jacksonville University is gearing up to commemorate its Charter Day this Friday.

The school celebrates it as a day of service with hundreds of students, faculty staff and alumni fanning out across Arlington to help more than a dozen nonprofits with a whole range of projects.

And it’s part of the neighborhood’s Renew Arlington turnaround effort as well.

We discuss these efforts and Jacksonville University's impact on the surrounding area with Tim Cost, president of JU, and retired Brig. Gen. Michael Fleming, the school's chief government, military and community relations officer.

HandsOn Jacksonville

Their second annual Celebrate GOOD Volunteer Festival takes place this week, spotlighting the work of volunteers on the First Coast.

LeeAnn Daddario, president and CEO of HandsOn Jacksonville, joins us with a preview of the event.

John Citrone

We speak with Jacksonville musician and writer John Citrone about new music from his band Dovetonsil and their performance on the First Coast this week.
