The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville is an arm of city government that awards money to cultural organizations. We discuss public funding for art and the organization's work with Tony Allegretti, Executive Director of the Cultural Council, Christie Holecheck, Director of the Art in Public Places program, and Daniel Austin, Communications Director.

Shannon Nazworth, Executive Director of Ability Housing, join us to discuss their latest community efforts on Jacksonville’s Westside and a crowdfunding campaign to provide affordable housing for adults with disabilities or at risk of homelessness.

This Friday, Jacksonville is celebrating national Purple Heart Day with a ceremony at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Wall. We discuss the event with Ralph Sevelius, of Vietnam Veterans of America, and veteran Eddie Harrison.

And "Electro Lounge" host and WJCT Music Director David Luckin drops by with music from Billie Holiday and Joss Stone.
