10/21/15: UNF 2016 Polls; Black Bear Hunt Protests; Breast Cancer Signs And Symptoms

UNF's Public Opinion Research Laboratory recently released their latest polls of likely 2016 Republican and Democratic voters here in Florida. The numbers show Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are still the front runners for next year's presidential election. We discuss the results with Mike Binder, UNF professor of political science and faculty director.

Environmental groups filed an emergency brief this week in hopes of stopping or at least slowing Florida’s first black bear hunt in more than 20 years. The hunt is set to begin this weekend, and will be run by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The state set up the hunt as a way to thin out the black bear population. However, groups protesting the hunt say there are more humane ways of addressing the issue. We speak with Jacksonville activist Adam Sugalski, who has organized protests against the hunt around the state.

Dr. Shahla Masood, professor and chair of the Department of Pathology at University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville and chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UF Health, joins us to discuss the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, as well as surprising facts about the disease.
