12/16/15: Church Of Eleven22 Pastor Joby Martin; Going Green; Instruments Of Change; Dads4Life

The Church of Eleven22, a popular Jacksonville church in the Intracoastal area, is one of the fastest growing congregations in the country, drawing young worshippers attracted to its positive message and dynamic pastor.

A recent investigation in Folio Weekly finds some former members raising concerns about the church. In particular, there are allegations that members are pressured to deny their sexual orientation after Eleven22 released a video earlier this year of a member discussing the church's impact on her homosexuality.

Church of Eleven22 Pastor Joseph "Joby" Martin III joins us with his thoughts.

In this week's Going Green segment, we speak with Pete Wilking, owner of A1A Solar, about two referendums concerning how Florida residents use solar energy that are fighting to get before voters next year.

Duval County Public Schools is teaming with the Jacksonville Symphony, Jacksonville Public Education Fund, Jacksonville Public Library and Florida Blue this holiday season for the first-ever “Instruments for Change” drive to collect and distribute new or gently used musical instruments to students. This program will help ensure more students in Duval County Public Schools have access to high-quality instruments. We learn more from LaToya Ellis, Director of Bands at Ribault Middle School, Kathryn Rudolph, director of education and community engagement with the Jacksonville Symphony, and Jeff Smith, director of arts at the Duval County Public Schools.

And we speak with Keith Jowers, founder of the local nonprofit Dads4Life, which works to help fathers stay involved in their children's lives and understand the roles and responsibilities of being a father. The group is hosting an online fundraiser this holiday season to support mentoring for First Coast dads.
