If you’re planning to head Downtown this weekend, you may be facing some detours or delays - depending on your route - as both the Main Street and Mathews bridges are undergoing maintenance work.
The Main Street Bridge will be closed Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day for routine bridge inspection.
During closures, drivers and pedestrians will be detoured to the Acosta Bridge. Signs will direct traffic through the detour. The Florida Department of Transportation said boaters will not be impacted by the closures.
Arlington motorists heading in or out of Downtown on the Mathews Bridge will also face detours or delays.
All eastbound lanes and one of the westbound lanes on the Mathews Bridge will be closed part of this weekend for maintenance.
The Florida Department of Transportation said the closures will last from 6 Friday evening to 6 Sunday morning while crews are working.
During that time, eastbound drivers from downtown will be detoured to the Hart Bridge.
Drivers into downtown from Arlington this weekend should expect increased traffic and plan accordingly.
