Supporters of what’s known as “adaptive reuse” say the city is acting recklessly by demolishing buildings without a plan for what will go in their place. A petition drive is now underway to keep the Jacksonville Landing in place and repurpose it into something else, rather than demolish it. Inclusive Museums
Last night, the Cummer Museum of Art & and Gardens hosted a sold-out talk on “The Inclusive Museum,” led by Johnnetta Cole, a Jacksonville native, Museum Director, Anthropologist, Educator, College President and author of “Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion in Museums.” She joined us, along with Dr. Adam Levine, the Cummer Museum’s George W. and Kathleen I. Gibbs Director & Chief Executive Officer, to discuss the topic in more detail.
