The four candidates running for Jacksonville mayor appeared together on television Wednesday night in a debate. The debate featuredAnna Brosche andLenny Curry,Jimmy Hill and NPA candidateOmega Allen who debated everything from crime to public safety and the plans to sell JEA.

Rick Mullaney, who heads up theJacksonville University Public Policy Institute; andDaniel Cronrath, political science professor at Florida State College at Jacksonville joined us to talk about the debate.

Sharon Siegel-Cohen is a longtime executive producer with our news partner News4Jax. She is also an ALS Patient. We spoke to Cohen about her experience and theWalk to Defeat ALS, to help raise awareness and find a cure for the disease.

Cohen’s doctor,Michael T. Pulley, an associate professor of neurology and the director of the EMG Laboratory at theUF Health Jacksonville, also joined us to discuss the journey to find a cure for ALS. Cohen’s team theSharon Songbirds will be participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS, Saturday, March 30, at Tinseltown.

The eighth annual Jacksonville Women’s Leadership Forum will be held over two days onMarch 27 and 28. The event is billed as an empowering day of dynamic speakers, informative panelists, and inspiring stories to help professional women advance their careers.

Board member Walette Stanford and keynote speaker and leadership expert Libby Gill spoke about women in leadership and what to expect at the forum.

He’ll headline theSt. Augustine Celtic Music and Heritage Festival this Saturday and perform a concert atSt. Paul's Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m.His concerts feature a blend of traditional Irish songs, church hymns, Broadway standards, nostalgic favorites and even a bit of opera. We spoke with Emmett about the appeal of Irish music here in the states.
