Agnes Agatha Furniture Store Closing Its Doors After 40 Years In Jacksonville

In 1979, My Sharona was a new hit song by The Knack,  the cast of the original Star Trek starred in their first movie and Jimmy Carter was president.

That same year, Decorative Fabrics opened in Jacksonville as a specialty fabrics retail store. It would grow into Agnes Agatha, a full-line furniture showroom offering high-end upholstery, rugs, lighting, home décor and interior design services.

But 2019 marks the end of the road for the area’s Norwalk Furniture dealer as its owners retire.

Agnes Agatha has announced a store-wide liquidation sale beginning Oct. 17 in its showroom at 8081 Philips Highway, near the corner of Baymeadows Road and across from Lowe’s and BJ's wholesale club.

The company says its going-out-of-business discounts will run as high as 65%.

The store building is also up for lease.
