Ailing skunks, squirrels and raccoons will be getting some new neighbors at the Ark Wildlife Sanctuary in Hilliard. The animal rescue can now care for badgers, bobcats, leopards, wolves and other wildlife. That’s because it’s received a Class 2 Captive Wildlife license from the state that greatly expands the list of wild animals that can be cared for.

The nonprofit treats and shelters orphaned and injured wildlife, while also providing permanent sanctuary for animals that can’t be returned to their native habitats.

Hilliard is Northwest of Jacksonville near the Florida-Georgia line.
